  • BELIZE--Jay's Wrap up

    February 02, 2017

As our time in Belize wrapped up a number of people asked me what impacted me most, what stuck with me after all we had done and experienced. Each time I had the same instantaneous visual fill my mind. It was a beautiful internal collage of the peopl...

Mission Trips

  • Saturday Master Class: Over 200 participants spent 5 hours listening to worship training delivered by Kurt and 2 hours listening to Ken teaching on sound engineering. They then learned 2 songs that Kurt wrote called “Go Therefore” and “Space Between the Chords”. The feedback was that the training REALLY helped the participants  They were so thankful!

  • Ken: Hello from Cameroon, Africa! It has been non-stop from the time we arrived late Tuesday. Our host Serges has been incredibly accommodating to Kurt and me. We were welcomed by a small army of the Festi Gospel Jam musicians at the airport. Wednesday Serges gave us a short tour around the city of Yaounde,Cameroon, first to the US Embassy to register our presence, as well as talk to the Public affairs office. We spoke with a sweet woman, named Gladys, who turns out is a believer and was interested in helping promote the conference we will be holding with Festi Gospel Jam this weekend. We then went to several local churches, and were welcomed by their Pastors. These are hard working men who have a heart for this city and expanding ministry to other parts of Africa.

  • From Kurt: We have an internet connection now. We will be playing at our first church of many tonight. We’ll be inviting people to the worship training on Friday and Saturday; several events scattered throughout the week and then a big concert on Friday with Festi Gospel Jam. Pray for us. And Thank You to everyone who gave. You will be giving into the lives of 150 musicians who will be going back to their congregations more equipped to lead their people in worship. We are already making an impact. The pictures are from where we are staying and of some bulls running through the street.

  • Tomorrow Ken and Kurt will kiss the wives and head to BNA (Nashville International Airport) to start the 3 continent jaunt to West Africa. Three planes, four legs to the flight path, to meet up with Serges and the Festi Gospel Jam folks (Check them out on Facebook) The How-Did-We-Get-Here is a bit of story but one part I thought everyone might like to see is about the Visas to get into Cameroon.

  • Nairobi, Kenya–January 18-27, 2014: For the 5th consecutive year, the World Music Mission will reside at Brackenhurst Conference Centre (www.brackenhurst.com) for a week of worship with the missionaries of SIMSudan. They base in Nairobi (for logistical reasons) as Sudan has transformed (and continues to transform) into two distinct nations. The roughly 80 missionaries serve in and across Sudan. They serve as doctors, nurses, linguists, engineers, evangelists, technicians, business developers, and pilots. The WMM team of musicians and childcare workers prays that Jesus will be lifted up to draw...
